14-year-old girl nearly drowns in swimming pool
A 14-year-old girl nearly drowned in a swimming pool in the yard of a private house in Karşıyaka. Thanks to her family’s timely assistance, the child was pulled from the water and then taken to hospital.
According to police, the incident occurred on 2 August at around 14:30. The girl was in the swimming pool in the yard of the house where she lived when, for an undetermined reason, she began to drown.
Relatives pulled the child from the water and called an ambulance. The girl was taken to Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa, where she was placed under observation in the paediatric department.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
