Cable fault on Northern Cyprus backbone fiber line fixed after 10 hours of work
The Telecommunications Department of the TRNC announced the successful completion of emergency repair work on the main backbone communication line. Earlier, damage to the main fiber optic cable caused widespread disruptions to internet and telephone services in several regions of the country.
Technical teams were mobilized to address the outage and worked continuously in the field for more than 10 hours. The damaged section of the cable has now been fully replaced and tested.
The department said that data transmission and telephone traffic across the country have been restored to normal operation. Residents who are still experiencing local issues with speed or network access are advised to restart their routers or contact their service provider’s support team.
