EMU represented at the 11th Eurasian Higher Education Summit in Istanbul

Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) in Northern Cyprus was represented on April 17, 2026, at the 11th Eurasian International Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2026) in Istanbul. The university delegation was led by the Vice Rector for Promotion and Institutional Communication, Prof. Dr. Ali Öztüren, and the International Academic Relations Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Ezel.

Within the framework of the summit, EMU representatives participated in academic presentations, workshops, and interactive sessions, sharing information and practical experience with delegates from various countries. The university statement emphasizes that the program allowed for the presentation of achievements in higher education and the expansion of professional contacts.

Organizers noted that the annual summit held in Istanbul serves as a platform for universities, institutions, and other stakeholders to discuss current industry topics in multilateral sessions. During the event, strategic sessions on the activities of the Eurasian Universities Union were also held, and plans for future initiatives were discussed; representatives of participating universities had the opportunity to evaluate cooperation options.

EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç emphasized in his statement that the focus on internationalization remains a priority for the university, and participation in international platforms promotes the development of cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the implementation of joint projects.
