Dipkarpaz residents raise the alarm over rubbish

Reports continue to reach our newsroom about the problem of rubbish on the beaches of Northern Cyprus. This time, the issue concerns Dipkarpaz, which is visited every year by tourists from both the northern and southern parts of the island. According to our correspondent, a rubbish dump has formed just 20 metres from the beach, while the sea and coastline are polluted with large amounts of plastic waste. This is causing serious concern and negatively affecting tourists’ impressions. Some of them openly say they do not plan to return.

Local residents are calling for attention to be paid to the situation and for measures to be taken to clean up one of the island’s best-known natural attractions.
