Two TAB Ltd. employees arrested in Lefkoşa over alleged theft of 4.86 million lira
A court in Lefkoşa remanded two TAB Ltd. employees in custody for three days: according to police, the company director forged approved payment orders and transferred 4,864,640 lira from the company’s accounts.

The suspects are facing charges of employee theft, document forgery and using forged documents. Criminal Division officer at the Lefkoşa Police Department Fırat Uğuroğlu told the court that the suspect, identified by the initials B. D., worked as director of TAB Ltd. on Mehmet Akif Street in Lefkoşa in 2026.
According to the investigation, he sent monthly payment documents to the company’s head office in Istanbul for approval, then added new entries after they had been approved. Under these documents, money was transferred from the company’s accounts at Garanti Bank to businesses and individuals who were not listed in the approved payments.
The HR director of TAB Ltd., identified by the initials E. N., was arrested alongside him: during its initial review of the forged payment orders, police found payments made out to him.
A bundle of the company’s payment orders was found in the director’s car; receipts, invoices, a computer and two laptops were seized from his office. The equipment will be sent to the data analysis unit of the TRNC Police General Directorate for examination. A search of the suspect’s home in Kyrenia yielded nothing.
Police asked the court to remand both men in custody so officers could review camera footage and question witnesses. Judge Şevket Gazi granted the request.
