Güzelyurt Resident Dies of Heart Attack While Playing Futsal in Lefkoşa
53-year-old Güzelyurt resident Tugay Gezen died after suddenly becoming unwell while playing futsal at a court in Ortaköy in Lefkoşa.
According to the TRNC Police Press Office, the incident occurred on 2 October. The man was taken to Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa, but despite the doctors’ efforts, he could not be saved.
The autopsy found that the cause of death was a heart attack against a background of heart disease for which he had previously received a stent, as well as acute cardiovascular and respiratory failure. Police are continuing their investigation into the death.
