200 kg of illegal meat discovered at the Beyarmudu checkpoint
In the morning, a large volume of goods imported without customs clearance was detected at the Beyarmudu land border crossing.
According to the police press service, at around 08:20, during an inspection of a vehicle traveling from areas of the Republic of Cyprus to the territory of Northern Cyprus, 200 kilograms of lamb, as well as 47 packages of spices and 7 bags of rice, were found in the car of a 46-year-old driver.
An administrative report was drawn up against the driver and a fine was imposed. The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
