Storm Warning Issued for Northern Cyprus
Strong storm winds are picking up in Northern Cyprus, prompting meteorologists to issue an urgent warning. According to the TRNC Meteorological Department, the west wind has strengthened to storm level since this morning.
The warning is set to remain in effect from 9:00 AM until the end of today. Wind gusts coming from the sea may reach up to 7 on the Beaufort scale.
In addition to the storm warning, two other weather alerts are also in effect.
High levels of ultraviolet (UV) radiation continue, and residents are advised not to stay in direct sunlight for more than 15 minutes. There is also a high risk of wildfires due to the dry conditions.
Additionally, rain is expected today across Northern Cyprus, with the heaviest rainfall forecast for Güzelyurt, Girne, the central regions, and the Karpas Peninsula.
