The 23rd Olive Festival Begins Today in Northern Cyprus
Today marks the beginning of the 23rd Olive Festival in Zeytinlik, Northern Cyprus. This festival, one of the most significant celebrations in the TRNC, will run for five days, concluding on October 6.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities during the festival, including sports events, a mime theater, performances by children's groups, traditional folk dances, and concerts featuring local and international artists. There is also a market where attendees can purchase the finest olives and freshest olive oil on the island.
Before the festival officially kicks off, a billiards' tournament will take place at 5:00 PM, followed by a tennis tournament organized by the municipality of Kyrenia at 5:30 PM.
The official opening ceremony of the festival is scheduled for 7:00 PM in the main square of Zeytinlik. At 7:30 PM, there will be a folk dance performance, followed by a concert featuring İbrahim Özbası and his orchestra at 7:45 PM. The evening will conclude with a concert by Fikri Karael at 9:00 PM.
