Fire Truck Overturns on Kyrenia–Esentepe Road, Two Firefighters Injured
A fire truck responding to a call overturned on the Kyrenia–Esentepe road, leaving two firefighters with minor injuries and causing temporary traffic disruptions.
According to a statement from the police press office, the accident occurred the previous evening around the 5–6 km mark of the highway. The truck was on its way to Esentepe to respond to a vehicle fire when the driver lost control while navigating a right-hand bend near the Alagadi-1 area. The truck veered into the opposite lane and tipped over onto its left side.
The injured firefighters were taken to Nicosia Hospital for treatment. Traffic in the area was heavily affected, and police officers were on-site directing vehicles until the overturned fire truck was removed. A crane was later brought in to lift the truck, and traffic flow was restored shortly after.
