In collaboration with Konya Municipality and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), a "Basic Firefighter Training" course was held for firefighters from the TRNC as part of the Emergency and Disaster Response Training Program (ADAMEP). A total of 30 firefighters from Northern Cyprus participated in this program.

The training covered both theoretical and practical lessons, including occupational health and safety, personal protective equipment, and the use of firefighting tools and equipment.

Additionally, the course provided essential knowledge on fire prevention principles, basic first aid, rescue equipment and its usage, response to traffic accidents, fire prevention measures, and managing crime scenes and disaster sites.

At the end of the training, practical exercises were carried out under the supervision of experienced instructors. During the training period, a technical inspection visit was also made to the fire departments in Famagusta and Nicosia.

The Konya Metropolitan Fire Department plans to continue offering both theoretical and practical training to various professional groups under the ADAMEP program. The main goal is to enhance the capacity of countries working with TIKA in managing disasters and emergencies.

A certificate ceremony was held in Nicosia for the TRNC firefighters who successfully completed the theoretical and practical training, as well as the final exercises.

Attending the ceremony were TRNC Fire Chief Ramadan Gürpınar, TIKA's TRNC Coordinator Havva Pınar Özkan Küçükçavuş, and Konya Municipality's Fire Chief Latif Erdoğan.
