On February 4, 2026, at the Lefke Tourism Association in Lefke, Northern Cyprus, the Republican Turkish Party (CTP) held a meeting with civil society organizations from the region. The event was attended by party leader Sıla Usar İncirli, Secretary General Mehmet Kale Kişi, deputies Fide Kürşat, Yürün Solyalı, Filiz Besim, Salahi Şahiner, Ongun Talat, Lefke Mayor Aziz Kaya, Güzelyurt District Head Çağlar Gulamkadir, and Lefke Branch Head Tunçay Sarıyer.

İncirli emphasized the need to preserve Lefke’s historical, cultural, and natural identity and stressed the importance of promptly implementing a zoning plan. According to her, the region’s environmental, economic, and social problems are interconnected, and the zoning plan is part of a comprehensive solution.

CTP stated its readiness to support projects of civil society organizations and incorporate their proposals into the action program. The party leader also stated that when assuming power, the party will act systematically and within budgets, avoiding “populist” formulations.

Representatives of civil society organizations pointed out the unfinished process of turning Lefke into the sixth district, a serious problem with water supply, and the threat posed by CMC waste, which, in their view, should be considered bilaterally. They also thanked CTP for raising the Lefke Gazi Lyceum issue on the parliamentary agenda.
