The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was represented at the 6th World Festival of Turkic Literature and Books held in Baku.

Northern Cyprus took part in the 6th Festival of Literature and Books of the Turkic World, which was held in the capital of Azerbaijan. At the international forum, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was represented by a delegation of the Cyprus Writers’ Union led by Professor Şevket Öznur. At the TRNC national stand, visitors to the exhibition were presented with scientific, historical and literary works by Cypriot Turkish authors published with the support of the Department of Culture.

As part of the festival, the head of the delegation delivered a report on the integration of the literature of Cypriot Turks into the common cultural space of the Turkic peoples, noting the importance of such platforms for strengthening the republic’s international ties. For their contribution to promoting cultural heritage, the Cyprus Writers’ Union and its representatives were awarded honorary diplomas by the organizing committee and the International Federation of Authors of the Turkic World (TÜRKSAB).
