Three company directors detained in Iskele over fire case
Three company directors have been detained as part of the investigation into the fire that broke out at the Sun Rise residential complex in Iskele.
According to the police, the investigation established that the fire was caused by negligence. Company directors A.N. (52), A.K. (46) and M.Z. (48) were detained on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
As a reminder, the fire broke out on Sunday at around 17:45. Firefighters evacuated about 50 people from the building, and several residents who inhaled smoke were examined by medical teams at the scene.
Fire service units from Iskele, Yeniboğaziçi and Famagusta took part in extinguishing the blaze. Six vehicles were deployed, including hydraulic vehicles, fire trucks and water tankers. The Civil Defence Department also provided assistance, along with a private company that supplied an additional water tanker.
