TRNC Calls for Stricter Checks at Border Crossings and Entry Points
MP Jens Rogers has issued an official appeal to the TRNC government, stating the need for the immediate strengthening of security measures at all checkpoints (CPs) and at the country's ports of entry. In the legislator's view, the current level of control does not meet today's challenges in migration and internal security.
In his statement, Rogers emphasized the need to introduce stricter document-checking procedures, technologically upgrade surveillance systems at the border, and strengthen the staffing of the relevant agencies. The parliamentarian also raised the need for a clear audit of procedures for the entry of foreign nationals in order to minimize the risks of illegal migration and improve the republic's overall security.
