What Documents Are Required for Admission to Universities in Northern Cyprus
To enroll in most universities in Northern Cyprus, international applicants are required to provide a standard set of documents: a passport, an educational document, a transcript of grades, and a photograph. The requirements of the largest universities.

Main set of documents
To apply for bachelor's degree programs, the following documents must be provided.

If the school certificate has not yet been issued
Many universities in Northern Cyprus accept applications from students before they have completed school. In this case, current academic records can be submitted instead of the school certificate, and the applicant can receive a Conditional Acceptance Letter.
Usually, the following is sufficient for preliminary consideration:
- a report card or transcript of grades for the last year of study;
- a certificate from the school confirming that the student is still enrolled;
- a passport.
After receiving the school certificate, it must be submitted to the university before final registration.
Documents for admission to a master's degree program
When applying for master's degree programs, the set of documents is expanded.

For certain programs, the university may additionally request a motivation letter, letters of recommendation from lecturers, or a brief résumé.
Transfer from another university
Students who wish to continue their studies in Northern Cyprus without losing a year of study apply for a transfer.
As a rule, universities review:
- a passport;
- an academic transcript;
- descriptions of completed courses (Course Description) — if necessary;
- a transfer application.
After evaluating the academic program, the university decides which courses already completed can be credited and determines the year of study into which the student may be admitted.
Is IELTS or TOEFL required?
Most universities in Northern Cyprus do not require applicants to have IELTS or TOEFL certificates.
If the applicant does not have an international certificate, they take the university's internal English language test. If the level of knowledge is insufficient, the student is usually offered a preparatory language program before starting the main course of study.
If an IELTS or TOEFL certificate is already available, it can be submitted together with the other documents.
Additional documents
The set of documents listed above is sufficient for most programs. However, some faculties may request additional materials.

Do documents need to be notarized?
Most universities accept electronic copies of documents for application review. Requirements for notarization and submission of originals should be clarified with the university selected.
Is an apostille required?
When applying to universities in Northern Cyprus, an apostille is usually not included in the mandatory list of documents. However, individual cases should best be clarified with the admissions office of the specific university.
Can I apply without an IELTS certificate?
Yes. Most universities conduct their own English language examination. If the level is insufficient, the student can take a preparatory course.
Can I apply before finishing school?
