Shopping During a Layover in Istanbul: The New Florentia Village Near the Airport
During a long layover at Istanbul Airport, you can now combine your flight with a full shopping trip without travelling to central Istanbul. On September 18, 2026, Florentia Village İstanbul opened near the airport — the first international-format luxury designer outlet in Turkey. Prada, Moncler, Ralph Lauren, HUGO, BOSS and other brands are represented here, while outlet products are sold at a price advantage of approximately 30–70 %. Since the complex has been operating for only a few days, some stores are still opening and the list of brands will expand.

Florentia Village İstanbul is the first international-format luxury designer outlet in Turkey. The project was created by Kalyon İnşaat together with the Italian RDM-Fingen Group, which specialises in designer outlets and develops Florentia Village locations in other countries.
The grand opening took place on September 17, 2026, and the new complex began operating for visitors on September 18. Therefore, at the time of publication, this is a completely new shopping centre: stores are continuing to open, and the final brand lineup is still being formed.
Florentia Village differs from the familiar enclosed shopping centre. It is a large open-air complex with streets, squares, stores, restaurants and cafés. The architecture incorporates elements of Italian style, with references to the Renaissance and ancient architecture.
The first phase covers approximately 65,000 m² of leasable space. The project is designed for approximately 190 stores, but this is the planned capacity of the first phase, not the number of retail outlets already operating in the first days after opening.
In the future, the complex will become significantly larger. The second phase is expected to add approximately 45,000 m², bringing the total leasable area to around 110,000 m². The project also includes a hotel, a large venue for concerts and events, restaurants and additional public spaces.
- Opening for visitors: September 18, 2026
- Format: luxury designer outlet and premium retail
- First phase: approximately 65,000 m²
- Planned first-phase capacity: approximately 190 stores
- After expansion: approximately 110,000 m²
- Investment: approximately EUR 250 million

Which brands are already represented
The main feature of Florentia Village is its luxury and premium brands, some of which are opening stores in Turkey in an outlet format for the first time.
Among the brands confirmed for Florentia Village İstanbul at the time of opening are Prada, Moncler, Ralph Lauren, HUGO, Ferragamo and BOSS. In addition to the luxury segment, sportswear and casual fashion stores are gradually opening.
In the first days of operation, Adidas, New Balance, Under Armour, Levi's, Tommy Hilfiger, Rue and other brands are already appearing. However, any list published now should not be considered final: the outlet opened only on September 18, so some premises are still being prepared for opening.
Florentia Village combines several formats. It includes outlet stores, luxury and premium retail, as well as stores with regular prices. Therefore, the presence of a brand in the complex does not mean that its entire assortment is sold at a discount.
What discounts are available at Florentia Village
Florentia Village İstanbul operates specifically in the designer outlet format. The complex's official website advertises discounts of up to 70 % on fashion-brand products. The exact discount depends on the store, collection and product, so the maximum 70 % discount does not apply to the entire assortment.
Which stores will open later
Florentia Village has only just started operating, so the store list will change during the first weeks. The first phase is designed for approximately 190 retail outlets, but they did not all open at the same time.
Some brands are at the opening and premises-preparation stage. Therefore, if the trip is being planned around a particular brand, it is best to check directly before departure whether the store has started operating.
Where Florentia Village is located
Florentia Village is located between Istanbul Airport and the Göktürk district, in İhsaniye. The complex is approximately 5 minutes from the airport by car when the road is clear.
This location is precisely what makes the new outlet especially interesting for transit passengers. There is no need to travel to Istanbul's central districts for shopping and then cross the entire city to return to the airport.
- Address: İhsaniye Mahallesi, İhsaniye İstanbul Caddesi No. 17, Eyüpsultan, İstanbul
- Landmark: between Istanbul Airport and Göktürk
- From the airport: approximately 5 minutes by car in light traffic
- Metro: İhsaniye station, M11 line
- Approximate store opening hours: daily 10:00–22:00
For now, using a separate link to the international Florentia Village website as a catalogue for the Istanbul outlet is inconvenient: the current global resource is mainly focused on the chain's locations in China, while a full local İstanbul catalogue is still being compiled.
How to get there from Istanbul Airport
By taxi
For passengers with limited time, this is the simplest option. Florentia Village is very close to the airport, so in normal traffic the journey takes significantly less time than travelling to large shopping centres in central Istanbul.
When getting into the taxi, you can tell the driver Florentia Village İstanbul, İhsaniye. Before the return journey, it is worth checking the traffic situation, as travel time in Istanbul depends on traffic.
By metro
Istanbul Airport → M11 metro, 1 stop → İhsaniye station → on foot → Florentia Village
Florentia Village is located next to İhsaniye station on the M11 line. This is the same metro line that serves Istanbul Airport.
Therefore, with a sufficiently long layover, the outlet can be combined with a metro journey. When planning the time, you should take into account not only the journey between stations, but also the walk from the terminal to the platform, the waiting time for the train and the walk from İhsaniye station to the entrance of the complex.
By car
Florentia Village is located near the main transport routes in the airport area of Istanbul. Therefore, it is convenient to include it in the route for those travelling to Istanbul Airport by car.
How much time is needed during a layover
Florentia Village is close to the airport, but passengers on international flights need to allow time for leaving the terminal, passport control and completing all procedures again before the next departure.
| Layover | What is best to choose |
|---|---|
| Up to 4 hours | Stay at Istanbul Airport and use the terminal shops |
| 4–6 hours | Florentia Village is possible only with a good time buffer and quick completion of control procedures; staying at the airport is more relaxed |
| 6–8 hours | Florentia Village can already be considered a full shopping trip |
| More than 8 hours | You can spend several hours at the outlet or consider other shopping centres |
For an international flight, it is better to return to Istanbul Airport approximately 3 hours before departure. If the airport is very busy or the road conditions are difficult, the time buffer should be increased.
To visit the outlet, you must have the right to enter Turkey: Florentia Village is located outside the airport's transit zone.
Shopping inside Istanbul Airport
If the layover is short, it is not necessary to leave the airport for shopping. Istanbul Airport itself is a large shopping complex with fashion-brand stores, luxury boutiques, cosmetics, perfumery, accessories, Turkish goods, sweets and souvenirs.
The main shopping area for international passengers is located after passport control. Here, you can combine waiting for your flight with shopping without travelling into the city or risking being delayed on the return journey.
Luxury boutiques
International luxury-brand boutiques operate in the airport's international zone. They should not be confused with Florentia Village: the airport sells current collections and travel-retail products, while the new outlet also focuses on previous collections with discounts.
Duty Free
Istanbul Airport is home to one of the largest Duty Free zones. It offers perfumes, cosmetics, sweets, accessories and other product categories.
However, Duty Free does not automatically mean the lowest price. For an expensive purchase, it is worth comparing the price with a regular store or outlet and taking into account the rules for importing goods into the destination country.
