Cyprus MPs Demand Urgent Adoption of Disability Rights Law
Members of the Cyprus Parliament have called for the swift adoption of legislation aimed at protecting the rights of persons with disabilities.
According to the MPs, the relevant bill has remained under consideration for a long time, despite the urgent need for its implementation. Parliamentarians emphasized that these delays hinder equal access to services, infrastructure, and opportunities for people with disabilities.
It is noted that the new law is intended to bridge existing gaps and align national legislation with European standards.
The deputies also drew attention to the need for faster procedures and better coordination between state agencies to ensure meaningful support for individuals with disabilities.
