€270,000 stolen from elderly resident’s home in Nicosia
In Nicosia, police have arrested a 48-year-old woman in connection with a major theft from the home of a 79-year-old man. According to investigators, €270,000 was stolen from the pensioner’s residence.
The crime came to light after the homeowner filed a report. According to him, the theft took place on July 2. Police officers who arrived at the scene found signs of unlawful entry into the house.
During the investigation, law enforcement obtained a court warrant for the arrest of the 48-year-old suspect. The woman was detained on the evening of July 7.
She will be brought to court today, where the issue of her pre-trial detention will be considered.
The investigation is ongoing.
