Cypriot choir “Emmeleia” won a silver medal at the international festival in Nafplio
The choir “Emmeleia” was awarded an international prize — a silver medal at the 11th Nafplio International Choral Festival, which took place in November in Greece.
According to the group’s representatives, participation became possible thanks to the financial support of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus (Department of Contemporary Art). The choir performed both in the competition program and the non-competition section, preparing different repertoires for each block.
“Emmeleia” was founded in February 2004 on the initiative of conductor Eleni Kyprianou. At this year’s festival, the choir took 2nd place overall and 1st place in the “Chamber Choirs” category, receiving a silver award with the highest score in the “silver” group.
