Nicosia invites tourists from Greece to Cyprus’s capital at Athens presentation
The Nicosia District Tourism Board (ETAP Nicosia) held a presentation in Athens on Friday to attract more travellers from Greece to the capital of Cyprus. The event took place under the slogan “Nicosia: Greece, we’re waiting for you”.

Guests were introduced to the city’s cultural attractions, events programme, hotels and transport links. Nicosia currently has around 2,300 hotel beds, and most of the city’s hotels have recently been renovated and offer a high standard of service.
Religious landmarks and pilgrimage routes offered by the Church of Cyprus were also discussed, along with Cyprus Airways’ plans to develop its route network. The airline has grown considerably over the past two years, and in 2025 Athens International Airport named it the fastest-growing airline.
“Every guest from Greece should visit Cyprus at least once, and every Cypriot should visit Greece at least once,” said Cyprus Deputy Minister of Tourism Costas Koumis. Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos named quality of life, safety, gastronomy and prospects for infrastructure development as the capital’s main advantages.
Joseph Joseph, president of the Cyprus-Greek Business Association, stressed that the two countries’ economies do not compete but complement each other. The presentation was held under the auspices of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, the Embassy of Cyprus in Greece and the association.
