New meeting between the President of Cyprus and Erhürman to take place on 26 August under UN auspices
President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides and Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman will meet on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, at 16:00 under the auspices of the United Nations.
The meeting will take place following an agreement between the negotiators of the two sides. The talks will be held within the framework of the understandings reached during the recent visit to Cyprus by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The aim of the meeting will be to prepare for a new expanded conference and the resumption of substantive negotiations on the Cyprus problem from the point at which they were interrupted. The dialogue will continue on the basis of the agreed framework and the understandings previously reached between the sides.
