Home sales in Cyprus rose by 3.8% year on year
According to Eurostat, in 2025 the number of residential property sales transactions in Cyprus increased by 3.8% compared with the previous year.
The rise followed a slight decline: in 2024, home sales on the island fell by 1.1% compared with 2023.
Overall across the European Union, the property market also showed positive momentum in 2025. Of the 18 countries for which Eurostat published data, a decline in the number of transactions was recorded only in Croatia (–4.1%), Bulgaria (–2.5%) and Poland (–1.1%).
The strongest growth in home sales was recorded in Slovenia (+29.9%), Lithuania (+22.8%) and Austria (+21.4%).
By comparison, in 2024 the number of transactions fell in six EU countries and increased in twelve. At that time, the sharpest declines were seen in Slovenia, Croatia and France, while Luxembourg, Hungary and the Netherlands led the growth.
