Third day of summer in Cyprus: the heat briefly eases, with rain possible in the mountains
According to the Meteorological Department, on Wednesday, June 3, temperatures on the island will remain within seasonal norms, and the stifling heat will temporarily ease due to the influence of a weak low-pressure area. Mostly clear weather is expected along the coast and in central areas, however in the second half of the day cloud cover may increase in the Troodos area, which could bring local short-lived showers.
Air temperatures in inland areas will rise to +34°C, on the southern and eastern coasts — up to +31°C, on the western and northern coasts — up to +29°C, and in the highlands the thermometer will show around +24°C. Winds will be predominantly southwesterly and northwesterly, light to moderate (3–4 on the Beaufort scale). The sea water temperature is around +24°C, making swimming conditions as comfortable as possible. Forecasters note that such moderate weather will last for a couple more days, after which temperatures will begin to rise gradually.
