Fuel prices in Cyprus continue to rise: diesel has become almost 40 cents more expensive in three months
Cypriot motorists and households continue to face a sharp rise in fuel prices. Over the past three months, the cost of petrol, diesel and heating fuel has increased significantly, adding pressure to family budgets.
According to the latest data from the Consumer Protection Service, the average price of 95-octane petrol in Cyprus has reached 1.585 euros per litre. Prices differ significantly from one petrol station to another: the cheapest petrol costs 1.484 euros, while the most expensive costs 1.649 euros per litre. The difference between the minimum and maximum price is 16.5 cents.
An even more noticeable increase is seen in diesel fuel. The average diesel price stands at 1.807 euros per litre. At some filling stations it can be bought for 1.699 euros, while at the most expensive stations the price reaches 1.914 euros per litre. The difference between the minimum and maximum price exceeds 21 cents.
The increase becomes especially noticeable when compared with prices at the end of February 2026, before the start of the war against Iran. Over this period, petrol became 27.1 cents more expensive per litre, diesel — by 39.7 cents, and heating fuel — by as much as 44.1 cents.
Thus, diesel and heating fuel have become the main drivers of price growth. For many island residents, this means a significant increase in expenses both for transport and for everyday needs.
Experts note that the ongoing instability in global energy markets and geopolitical tensions continue to have a direct impact on fuel prices in Cyprus. Amid the persistent rise in prices, consumers are increasingly looking for cheaper filling stations to cut costs.
