Houston approves 3+1 energy cooperation plan

A significant strategic meeting in the 3+1 format took place in Houston, USA, with the participation of representatives from Cyprus, Greece, Israel and the United States. Following the talks, the sides agreed on a joint action plan aimed at strengthening energy cooperation, developing infrastructure projects and ensuring the security of resource supplies in the Eastern Mediterranean.

The participants focused primarily on diversifying energy routes and creating reliable corridors for transporting natural gas and clean energy to Europe. The sides discussed in detail the technical and financial aspects of key regional projects, including cross-border power grids and prospective LNG terminals. The American side reaffirmed its full support for this geopolitical alliance, stressing that the integration of the energy systems of the three Mediterranean states is critically important for the stability of the entire region.

In addition to infrastructure, the cooperation plan includes provisions for the joint protection of maritime and onshore energy facilities from potential threats, as well as technology exchange in the field of renewable energy. The talks marked the transition of the 3+1 format from general political declarations to the practical implementation of large-scale energy initiatives.
