A 65-year-old man abducted and robbed in Larnaca: three suspects arrested

The Cyprus Republic Police is investigating a case of robbery, abduction, theft and causing bodily harm. The victim of the crime was a 65-year-old man from the Larnaca district.

According to the victim, last Monday he met with three men, two of whom he knew previously. During the meeting, the 42-year-old suspect attacked him, beat him and took 300 euros, a mobile phone and car keys.

After that, the men forcibly put the victim into a car and drove him to a plot of land belonging to him in one of the villages in the Larnaca district. There they took the keys to another car, loaded various items from the property into it and fled.

During the investigation, police obtained court warrants for the arrest of two suspects, aged 32 and 42. During a joint operation in the Nicosia district, they were detained. With them was a third man, who investigators established also took part in the crime.

All three will appear before the Larnaca District Court, where police will seek their remand in custody for the duration of the investigation.

The investigation is continuing by officers from the Kofinou police station.
