The Limassol police are investigating a brazen nighttime attack on the office of a large financial company specializing in foreign exchange trading. During the night, unknown attackers opened targeted fire on the facade of the multi-storey building that houses the organization’s headquarters. According to preliminary forensic data, the assailants fired around twenty bullets at the office windows and walls, allegedly from an automatic weapon, before fleeing the scene in a high-speed vehicle in an unknown direction.

Because the incident took place deep at night, when there was no staff or duty employees in the premises or in the surrounding area, no one was injured in the intense shooting. However, the building sustained significant material damage: panoramic windows on several floors were shattered by bullets, elements of the external decorative facade were seriously damaged, as were the interior finishes and office furniture in the reception area. The area around the scene was immediately cordoned off by reinforced police units to carry out initial investigative actions.

Investigators and ballistic experts thoroughly examined the scene of the shooting, collected all shell casings found, and began analyzing footage from numerous outdoor surveillance cameras installed on the building itself and on neighboring commercial properties. Law enforcement leadership is considering several working theories about what happened, including an attempt by criminal groups to intimidate the business owners or a conflict of interest related to the professional activities of the affected forex company.
