80 Kilograms of Marijuana Seized in Limassol
The Anti-Narcotics Unit (YCAN) has seized 80 kilograms of marijuana in Limassol. One individual has been arrested, with €19,000 found during a search.
According to a police press release, the operation to detain the suspect was carried out by the National Security Agency on Amathountos Avenue in Limassol. During a vehicle search, a small quantity of drugs was discovered in the possession of a 28-year-old man.
Following this, the police conducted a search at the suspect's hotel room in Limassol, where approximately 20 kilograms of cannabis were found.
During questioning, the man admitted to possessing the drugs and led officers to a second apartment where an additional 60 kilograms of marijuana were discovered, along with €18,900 in cash.
The seized drugs and cash have been confiscated as evidence.
The 28-year-old man has been arrested and taken into custody as part of the investigation into drug trafficking. He is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court today.
