Major Modernization of Bus Stops Begins in Paphos
The project to upgrade the city's transport infrastructure has officially begun in the municipality of Paphos. As part of the large-scale modernization, it is planned to replace old bus stops with modern “smart” shelters throughout the city and the surrounding areas.
The new bus stop complexes will be equipped with electronic displays showing timetables and bus arrival times in real time, built-in USB ports for charging mobile devices, as well as night lighting systems. The structures have been designed with the island's climate in mind: they will provide passengers with more effective protection from the sun and wind. The project is funded with support from European infrastructure development funds and is aimed at promoting public transport among local residents and tourists.
