The Paphos Water Board has announced the launch of a large-scale environmental programme under which 75,000 special water-saving kits will be distributed free of charge among residents of the region. The initiative is aimed at combating water shortages during the summer period and is intended to help consumers significantly reduce their utility bills.

Each free kit includes modern aerator attachments for taps and special shower heads. These devices mix the water flow with air, which makes it possible to reduce household water consumption by up to 40–50% without losing pressure or comfort during use.

All registered consumers can obtain the kits by presenting their latest water bill at the central office of the Paphos Water Board or at designated distribution points in municipal communities. The authorities are urging residents to take an active part in the campaign, noting that careful use of resources reduces the overall strain on the island’s ecosystem during the peak hot months.
