Second suspect arrested in case of attempted forest arson
Cyprus police have detained a 28-year-old woman in connection with an attempted forest arson incident in the Kornou area of Larnaca District. A 26-year-old man had previously been arrested in the same case.
The incident occurred on August 2 at around 19:00. Witnesses saw two people get into a car and leave the scene. Almost simultaneously, they noticed a fire in a nearby forested area and managed to extinguish it themselves before it spread.
During the investigation, police obtained evidence that initially led to the detention of a 26-year-old suspect on charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and attempted forest arson. Later, a 28-year-old woman was also arrested under a court warrant.
The investigation is being continued by officers of the Kofinou Regional Police Station.
