Limassol Resident Crashes into Police Officers in Stolen Car
A man in Limassol was arrested after crashing into a police car while attempting to flee in a stolen vehicle.
According to the police press office, the incident occurred the previous evening. Officers noticed a suspicious vehicle being driven by a 50-year-old man. When the driver ignored their signal to stop, a high-speed chase ensued.
In his attempt to escape, the suspect repeatedly violated traffic regulations and eventually collided with a police car, three private vehicles, and a motorcycle.
As a result of the accident, a 25-year-old motorcyclist was injured. He was taken to Limassol General Hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
Further investigation revealed that the car the man was driving had been reported stolen on September 24.
Following his arrest, the man underwent a preliminary drug test, which returned a positive result.
