Do drones need to be registered in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus?

According to aviation legislation, every unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is operated in the territory of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus must be registered with the country's Civil Aviation Department, after which it will be assigned its unique number.

Drone Registration in North Cyprus

To do this, you need to send the following set of documents to one of the email addresses of the Administration ([email protected] or [email protected]):

1. Completed Form-001.

2. Photo of your ID.

3. Photo of the drone showing its serial number and model.

4. State the purpose of use (hobby or commercial).

Failure to comply with the law regarding the operation of an unregistered UAV is subject to punishment in the form of a fine of four minimum wages.

According to information from the aviation authorities of North Cyprus, drones weighing up to 249 grams are not subject to mandatory registration.

Where is it forbidden to fly even with permission?

It is forbidden to launch the device into the air within a 6-kilometer radius of airports and in the vicinity of military bases. For flights at an altitude above 120 meters, additional permission from the civil aviation department is required.
