Bellapais: what to see, events, how to get there, cost of admission

Bellapais is one of the main attractions of Northern Cyprus, and not only the abbey itself but also the village of the same name. Here you will find photogenic narrow streets with colorful cafes, a relaxed southern atmosphere and, of course, history will surround you everywhere.

The main place of attraction - Bellapais Abbey - began to be built in the era of the Crusaders at the end of the 12th - beginning of the 13th centuries. Despite the partially ruined state, the structure is still not only attractive aesthetically but also performs public functions.

For example, due to the excellent acoustic qualities, concerts such as the International Music Festival or the Spring Festival of Classical Music are regularly held here.

Recently, you can get to the village by public transport from Girne, mini buses run daily every hour, starting at 10:00 and ending at 19:00. In the opposite direction, dolmus will ride from 10:30 to 19:30.
