Cinemas in Northern Cyprus: Where to Go and How Much It Costs
Going to the movies in Northern Cyprus is more of a one-evening entertainment than a regular habit of watching new releases. Premieres do arrive here, albeit with a two-week “beach holiday” delay, and often in the original language. But the experience is still worthwhile – tickets cost between 200 and 300 lira, the sound is good, the chairs are comfy, and the popcorn is delicious.
So, does that mean you can’t enjoy watching movies? You absolutely can! More on that below.
What About the Films?
Most films are shown in Turkish – that’s the local distribution standard. However, in popular cinemas, you can often find screenings in the original language, usually English. Some venues also offer subtitles. And if you’re looking for something more intimate, there are even movie cafés in Cyprus where you get to choose what to watch.
