Glapsides Beach
Glapsides is a sandy beach about half a kilometer long, located between two military bases in the west of Cyprus, just north of Famagusta. It is loved for its sand and shallow waters, though some may see that as a downside.
Beach Infrastructure
Sunbeds offered by several cafes, as well as toilets, changing rooms, and showers at these establishments — that’s the available infrastructure on the beach. If you go slightly north, you’ll find completely wild areas.
Glapsides Beach for Children
There is no special infrastructure for children, but parents of toddlers will appreciate the very shallow sea — you can walk more than a hundred meters from the shore.
Older children will enjoy the stand-up paddleboards available for rent.
How to Get to the Beach
If you’re driving — go from Famagusta toward Iskele, take the third exit at the Burhan Nalbantoğlu roundabout (right turn), and drive straight to the end — there you’ll find the parking lot. If you’re coming from Iskele, take the first exit (left) at the roundabout.
By public transport — any minibus or bus between Famagusta and Iskele will work. You can tell the driver “Glapsides,” but if they don’t understand, ask to be dropped off at the Burhan Nalbantoğlu roundabout. From there, it’s about a kilometer walk to the beach.
