12th Nicosia Marathon to Take Place on December 1st
The traditional Nicosia Marathon, sponsored by Ülker, will be held for the 12th time this year on December 1st. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Pediatric Oncology Department of Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital.
This highly anticipated annual event, organized by the Turkish Municipality of Nicosia (LTB), is expected to draw thousands of athletes. The marathon will take place under the theme “Run to Victory with Our Heroes.”
Participants can choose from three different categories: a 4 km fun run, a 10 km race, and a 21 km race. This year, for the first time, a special race for children will also be held.
For the first time in Northern Cyprus, professional runners' performances will be tracked using a chip system, approved by international organizations like the IAAF and AIMS. This move brings the Nicosia Marathon closer to global standards.
Registration for the marathon will begin in front of the LTB building on Monday, November 18, and will close on Saturday, November 30.
The registration deadline for the 10 km and 21 km races is Friday, November 29, while registration for the 4 km fun run and children’s race will continue on the morning of Sunday, December 1, at the LTB building.
Entry fees are as follows: 250 TL for the 4 km fun run, 1,000 TL for the 10 km race, and 1,250 TL for the 21 km race. Participation in the children’s race will be free of charge.
Online registration and further details are available on the event's official website: www.lefkosamaratonu.com.
