13 people were arrested in connection with the fires in Turkey
Justice Minister Tunc spoke about the progress of the investigation into the forest fires at the signing ceremony of the Cooperation Protocol on support for seminars, which he attended together with the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Ibrahim Yumakli.
Expressing condolences over the deaths of Ibrahim Demir and Ragip Sahin, who died while extinguishing the forest fires, Tunc said that the forest fires have burned the hearts of everyone and that everyone is doing their best to protect the country’s nature.
Minister Tunc said: "An investigation is underway into the fires that broke out. In this context, 67 suspects have been involved in recent fires. Arrest warrants have been issued for 13 of them. The causes of the fires are being investigated."
