Cloudy but Dry Weather Expected in Northern Cyprus on May 16

The TRNC Department of Meteorology reports that high atmospheric pressure and warm, humid air in the upper layers of the atmosphere will dominate Northern Cyprus on Friday, May 16.

The forecast calls for cloudy skies throughout the day, but no rainfall is expected. Temperatures will remain within seasonal norms, ranging between 23°C and 29°C across most parts of the country. No storms are predicted.

Winds will blow from the northeast at a moderate strength.

Two weather warnings have been issued for the region:

• High risk of wildfires due to dry conditions.

• High UV levels — residents are advised to avoid direct sun exposure for more than 15 minutes.

• Northern Coast: Girne – 25°C, Lapta – 22°C, Akdeniz – 25°C, Alevkaya – 23°C, Esentepe – 24°C
• Western Coast: Lefke – 27°C, Güzelyurt – 28°C
• Central Region: Lefkoşa (Nicosia) – 29°C, Ercan – 29°C
• Eastern Coast: Gazimağusa – 27°C, İskele – 28°C
• Karpaz Peninsula: Yenierenköy – 26°C
