17 Northern Cyprus companies showcased products at WorldFood Istanbul 2025
Minister of Economy and Energy Olgun Amcaoğlu stated that at the International Food and Technology Exhibition WorldFood Istanbul (September 2–5, 2025, Tüyap Exhibition Center, Istanbul), 17 companies from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) presented their products, which attracted significant interest from visitors. This was reported in a written statement distributed by the ministry's press office.
According to Amcaoğlu, the TRNC stand, for the first time after last year's placement in the basement hall, was moved to the ground floor with the support of Turkey’s Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM); the allocated area was 400 m². In addition to the official exhibition, a culinary demonstration “Refika's Kitchen” (under the patronage of Sibel Tatar) took place, fully attended by Turkey’s Minister of Trade.
The TRNC exhibition featured products such as makun (paste), pekmez (molasses), pickles, lemonades, dairy products, tahini, coffee, olives and olive oil, Turkish delight and confectionery, frozen products, bakery items, and citrus fruits. Participants included Kıbrıs Türk Sanayi Odası, Gülgün Süt Ürünleri, Bafra Gıda, Cypfruvex, Sultan Kahve, and other companies.
Amcaoğlu noted that the exhibition gathered participants from approximately 100 countries and provided TRNC enterprises opportunities to enter new markets. For Northern Cyprus residents, this means increased export prospects for local producers and a chance to see the expansion of local products beyond the island.
