33rd TRNC State Photography Competition to Be Held in 7 Categories
The 33rd State Photography Competition of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will take place this year across seven categories. Applications will be accepted online from March 14, 2025, to May 5, 2025.
Şirin Zaimağaoğlu, the Director of the Department of Culture, announced that this year, a new category called "Underwater Photography" has been added. This addition aims to encourage photographers to capture not only land-based images but also the beauty beneath the sea, highlighting the island's underwater treasures.
With the new category, the number of categories in the competition has expanded to seven: "Open Theme," "Nature," "My City: My Famagusta," "Conceptual Shots," "Architecture," "Underwater Photography" (black and white), and "Seas of Northern Cyprus" (color photographs).
Special awards from the selection committee and the Department of Culture will also be presented. Additionally, a certificate will be given to the photographer who submits the most works to the competition. The grand prize will be 15,000 TL, with "Honorable Mentions" awarded 8,000 TL and "Special Awards" receiving 5,000 TL.

The award ceremony and exhibition opening will be held on World Photography Day, August 19, 2025, at the exhibition hall in Nicosia.
