Ali Adalier officially presented as Chief of Police of TRNC
On August 22, 2025, in the White Hall of the Presidential Palace, a ceremony was held to award the ranks to Ali Adalier, who was appointed as Chief of Police of the TRNC as of August 21. The ranks were presented by President Ersin Tatar; the ceremony was also attended by the Speaker of Parliament, heads of courts and ministries, the Commander of the Security Forces and police representatives.
In his speech, President Tatar congratulated Adalier and expressed hope for strengthening the police and increasing staff numbers in connection with population growth. Tatar emphasized the importance of training personnel and using modern technologies, as well as the need for international cooperation in combating drugs, criticizing the Greek side for refusing cooperation on this issue.
Adalier himself, in his address, promised to rely on the principles of human rights, the rule of law, and to continue the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking. He named as priorities staff training, projects on road safety, and improving working conditions and social benefits for police officers.
Adalier was born in 1973, graduated from the Ankara Police Academy (1995), served in narcotics, criminal investigation units and held several senior positions; in 2024 he was Deputy Chief of Police. For residents, this means possible strengthening of drug prevention, large-scale operations against organized crime, and new road safety initiatives.
