Indefinite strike in Northern Cyprus cooperatives to continue at the Prime Minister’s office
The Koop-Sen trade union announced that the indefinite strike of workers from Koop Süt, Zirai Levazım and Binboğa Yem will continue on its ninth day in front of the Prime Minister’s office tomorrow, Friday, at 08:00. The information was shared by the union’s general president, Mehmetali Güröz.
According to Koop-Sen’s statement, the strike remains unchanged and affects only the mentioned cooperatives. Specific demands and next steps of the union have not been detailed. Available information indicates that the action is planned as a gathering in front of the executive authority to draw attention to the problems faced by cooperative workers.
For residents of Northern Cyprus, this may result in short-term disruptions in the operation of cooperatives and in the supply of products — primarily dairy goods, agricultural products and animal feed. The union advises those dependent on cooperative supplies or services (farmers, retail outlets) to plan their stocks in advance and to follow official announcements from Koop-Sen and authorities for timely updates.
