Mustafa Akıncı, Fourth President of TRNC, Hospitalized
Mustafa Akıncı, the fourth President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), has been hospitalized after losing consciousness at his hotel during a visit to Famagusta.
He was quickly transported by ambulance to Famagusta State Hospital.
According to local media, the medical tests showed that his condition is not concerning to doctors. However, as a precaution, he will remain under observation in the hospital for 24 hours.
The country’s Prime Minister, Ünal Üstel, has also commented on Akıncı’s health. He mentioned that he is “keeping track of the fourth president’s condition through Health Minister Hakan Dinçer” and expressed his wishes for a speedy recovery.
Mustafa Akıncı served as President of the TRNC from April 30, 2015, to October 23, 2020.
