The Department of Meteorology forecasts 38–41°C in Northern Cyprus from August 23 to 29
According to the Department of Meteorology, during the period from August 23 to 29, the territory of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) will be under the influence of a low-pressure area and a warm, relatively humid air mass, which will cause temperatures to rise to 38–41°C inland and 32–35°C on the coasts.
Meteorologists note that on Saturday and Sunday the weather will be clear with occasional light clouds. On Monday and Tuesday variable cloudiness is possible, with morning fog expected in some areas; the rest of the days will remain mostly clear. The wind will be mainly from the south and west, of moderate strength, occasionally gusty.
For residents and visitors of the island, this means an increased risk of heat-related conditions: it is recommended to limit intense physical activity during peak heat hours, drink more water, stay in the shade or in air-conditioned rooms, and monitor the elderly and children. Due to morning fog at the beginning of the week, drivers should be more cautious on the roads and reduce speed if necessary.
