Iskele Municipality to Kick Off Cultural and Arts Days on March 7

The Iskele Municipality is all set to host the 14th edition of the Cultural and Arts Days, which will run from March 7 to 28. The festival’s opening will feature a performance by the renowned Turkish poet, artist, and director Sunay Akın.

The events will begin on Friday, March 7, with an opening ceremony at the Municipality Cultural Center. This will be followed by Sunay Akın's performance at the Atatürk Cultural Center in Iskele.

On Saturday, March 8, at 7:00 PM, a theatrical dance performance titled "Gong" will be presented by Filiz Bozkush Al.

On Monday, March 10, at 7:00 PM, the film "Time of Organization of Minayalar" will be screened at Iskele AKM.

On Wednesday, March 12, there will be two events at Iskele AKM: the "Meet the Writers" session at 10:00 AM and the "Night of Songs and Poetry" at 7:00 PM, featuring a performance by Metin Güler.

On Monday, March 17, at 10:00 AM, the Municipality Cultural Center will host a "Gastronomic Talk and Masterclass" with chefs Tanya Kilitkayalı and Uğur Yılmaz Deniz.

On Tuesday, March 18, from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM, there will be two events: "Delivered Pleasure" at the Municipality Cultural Center and "Night of Cypriot Folk Songs" at Iskele AKM.

On Friday, March 21, at 7:00 PM, a concert of traditional Cypriot and mixed songs will be performed by the "Otello Polyphonic Choir".

On Saturday, March 22, at 7:00 PM, Iskele AKM will host the "Night of Foreign Countries".

On Tuesday, March 25, at 7:00 PM, Iskele AKM will present a Sufi Music Concert and Whirling Dervishes Show.

The festival will also feature events for children.

On Tuesday, March 11, Dervişe Günayeli Kutlu and Burcu Müniroğlu Karagöz will meet children at Iskele AKM for an event titled "Musical Fairy Tales". The event, aimed at children from local schools, will be held in two sessions.

Additionally, one of the most successful theatrical artists in the TRNC, İzel Seylani, will perform her shadow play "The Hidden Treasure of Karagöz" with children. The performance will take place on March 18 and March 25 at Iskele AKM at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

On Monday, March 10, and Thursday, March 13, Cypriot writer Hakan Yozku will meet with young people to present his new book.

To mark World Theatre Day on March 27, the Iskele Municipality Theatre will showcase the play "The Thief is Coming", directed by Sami Yakar.

The 14th Cultural and Arts Days will conclude on March 28 with a concert by the Iskele Municipality Choir at 7:30 PM at Iskele AKM.

In addition, this year, the Iskele Municipality will organize the "First Youth Photography Competition", which is open to individuals aged 15 to 25. The competition will focus on the beauties and history of Iskele, with the top three winners receiving a prize of 7,500 Turkish Lira.
