Houses of Turkish Cypriots in South Cyprus will no longer be allocated as summer homes

The Committee on Refugees of the Greek Cypriot Parliament has decided to end the allocation of Turkish Cypriot houses as summer holiday homes “through competitive bidding.”
According to the adopted decision, Turkish Cypriot houses will now only be provided to refugees as their primary residence.
The Chairman of the Committee on Refugees of the Greek Cypriot Parliament, AKEL MP Nikos Kettiros, stated that with this decision, all Turkish Cypriot houses will be allocated to refugees solely as their first home.
Kettiros also stated that Turkish Cypriot houses will no longer be used as summer homes.
