"They Thought They Were Rambo": Two Drunk Men Assault Police Officers in Girne
Last weekend in Girne, two intoxicated men assaulted police officers who had admonished them. The incident was reported by the city's mayor, Murat Şenkul, on his social media.
According to the mayor, the two drunken individuals were swinging on the swings at a children's playground when a police officer approached and made a remark. However, the men did not appreciate the admonition and launched a physical attack on the officers.
While the mayor did not provide details on how the altercation concluded, he stressed that "there are police officers in this city, and everyone will learn to obey the rules." He promised that those who assaulted the police officers would face the full consequences of the law.
- "Anyone who drinks two bottles of alcohol thinks they are Rambo," lamented the mayor.
