Two drunk drivers caused accidents on the Geçitkale–Alaniçi and Kyrenia–Tatlısu highways

In Northern Cyprus, the police detained two drivers involved in accidents while under the influence of alcohol.
On the Geçitkale–Alaniçi highway, 45-year-old Aliye Refikoğlu, with 150 mg/dl of alcohol in her system, lost control of her car and crashed into metal barriers. The woman sustained minor injuries, received treatment, and was released. The police have initiated legal proceedings against her for drunk driving and creating a hazardous situation.
On the Kyrenia–Tatlısu highway, 48-year-old Serkan Sosa, found to have 217 mg/dl of alcohol, also lost control — his car hit metal barriers twice. The injured driver was hospitalized and is under observation. Legal actions have also been initiated against him for driving under the influence.
